West Asia: Guesthouse

Today, more than 7,200 people groups around the world are unreached with the gospel. In these places, there are significant barriers to missionary work and the advancement of the gospel. Political turmoil, linguistic and cultural differences, physical hardships, and persecution, to name a few, make it extremely difficult to reach these people with the good news. 

Avant is continually looking for creative ways to send and keep our workers in hard-to-reach places. One avenue is through missional business. We have various teams engaged in B4T, Businesses for Transformation. These teams aim to run self-sustaining enterprises that will lend credibility in the community, provide long-term access in the region, and result in deep relationships that open doors for the gospel.

In a remote and mountainous region of West Asia, which is known for some of the most beautiful hiking trails in the world, lives an unreached people group. Along one famous trail that attracts tourists from all over the world, God has opened an opportunity for us to purchase a guesthouse and adjoining shop and café. The current owners are believers who have run the guesthouse as a ministry for many years, earning a good standing in the community and faithfully sharing the gospel with the local people and hikers who pass through. 

Avant is seeking funds to purchase the property and renovate the guesthouse, shop, and café. The need is $350,000. Once the purchase and renovations are complete, our workers plan to run the guesthouse as a self-sustaining business that will serve the surrounding community through the store and café, as well by providing jobs.
